What is the GPS module?
A GPS module is a receiver of GPS signals that can be connected to a computer or phone via wireless Bluetooth or wired means, and transmit the received GPS signals to GPS software on the computer or phone for processing.
The GPS module, also known as a GPS receiver, acts like a "radio" that receives and demodulates the broadcast C/A code signal from satellites, with a frequency of 1575.42MHz. The GPS module does not broadcast signals and belongs to passive positioning.
In addition to GPS, there are other technologies used for tracking, such as 4G LTE trackers, GSM tracker devices, and remote tracking systems. These technologies utilize cellular networks to transmit location information to the tracking software.
4G LTE trackers use the latest cellular network technology to provide fast and accurate location tracking. GSM tracker devices use Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) networks to transmit data, including location information, to the tracking software.
Remote tracking systems allow users to monitor and track assets or vehicles from a remote location using a computer or mobile device.
The key to the application of GPS modules and other tracking technologies lies in developing the serial communication protocol, which is the input/output protocol format of the module.
It mainly includes data types and information formats, with data types consisting of binary information and NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) data information. These two types of information can communicate with the GPS receiver and other tracking devices through the serial port.

The GPS module, 4G LTE trackers, GSM tracker devices, and remote tracking systems are all used in personal GPS devices for tracking and monitoring purposes.
These devices can be used for personal positioning, preventing children and the elderly from getting lost, preventing theft of items, and monitoring assets or vehicles.
